Dancing Queen

We spent this weekend in Lubbock attending the amazing wedding festivities of our good friends Byron and Lindsay. We saw so many good friends and had such a great time!

But I would say Audrey had the BEST time. I knew this girl liked music, but when you take her to a party, the dancing queen comes out in her...and believe me, these pictures just don't do her justice.

At the rehearsal dinner, she was introduced to mariachi music which she took to quite naturally.

Then she was the first one on the dance floor at the reception...with her escorts Daddy and Uncle James.

Finally she found some friends to boogie with so we could watch from the sidelines.

Then before we knew it, she discovered an air vent in the floor and the party gained a new level of entertainment for all involved :)

Congratulations again, Byron and Lindsay! Thanks for including us in your special day...and for providing so many opportunities for dancing!

Kissing Cousins :)

We had a wonderful time with family last weekend! My aunt Gwen and uncle Craig, cousin Brandy and her husband Ryan, and their kids Cayden, Jackson, and Reagan came down for a visit from Bullard in East TX. Reagan is 4 months old and it was our first time to meet her. She is a doll as you can see!

The big boys drove our little ones around in their fun trucks, and they were so sweet and good with them. This was one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

We had a "family tree" discussion and researched the correct labels for all of the cousins. I was never sure of the correct terminology and this is what we learned:

(from Wikipedia) A person with whom you share a grandparent (but not a parent) is a "first cousin" (like me and Brandy, or Audrey and Layton); someone with whom you share a great-grandparent (but not a grandparent) is a "second cousin" (like Audrey and Cayden, or Layton and Jackson); and someone with whom you share a great-great-grandparent (but not a great-grandparent) is a third cousin; and so on. The child of your first cousin is your "first cousin once removed" because the one generation separating you and the child (the cousin) represents one remove. (like me and Reagan)

Well, no matter what we call each other, it was so great seeing everyone! We miss you already!
