Zoo with You

We visited the Ft. Worth Zoo a few weeks ago, and it was the most active zoo trip I have been on!
We went late in the afternoon when everyone else was leaving and the animals were waking up from naps for dinnertime! It was very fun and interactive!

It was hilarious watching this little monkey playing with his parents and swinging.

We heard this hippo make funny sounds...

...and heard this guy roar over and over!

And spending time with our little monkeys was the greatest part of all!

Kinder Grad

Yes, I know it was only yesterday that I showed you first day of Kindergarten photos, but believe it or not, Audrey is already finished with Kindergarten. It's true. She graduated today, smiling the whole way.

This is the Class of 2026.
"Kindergarten Wall"

When I was a little kid not so long ago
I had to learn a lot of stuff I didn't even know
How to dress myself, tie my shoes, how to jump a rope
How to smile for a picture without looking like a dope
But of all the things I learned my favorite of them all
Was a little poem hanging on the kindergarten wall
CHORUS:
Of all you learn here remember this the best:
Don't hurt each other and clean up your mess
Take a nap everyday, wash before you eat
Hold hands, stick together, look before you cross the street
And remember the seed in the little paper cup:
First the root goes down and then the plant grows up!
Well, it was first, second, third grade, fourth grade, too
Where I had to learn the big things the big kids do
To add, subtract, and multiply, read and write and play
How to sit in a little uncomfortable desk for nearly half a day
But of all they taught me my favorite of them all
Was the little poem hanging on the kindergarten wall
Chorus
But lately I've been worried as I look around and see
An awful lot of grown-ups acting foolish as can be
Now I know there's lots of things to know I haven't mastered yet
But it seems there's real important stuff that grown-ups soon forget
So I'm sure we'd all be better off if we would just recall
That little poem hanging on the kindergarten wall

The three kiddos I started out keeping 6 short years ago...

In addition to a diploma, she was also awarded a certificate from P.E. She did not tell us until a few days later that she was one of only two children in her P.E. section (which is about 1/3 of K) that received this award for always doing what she is supposed to do and trying her best. Talk about make some parents proud!

Then she brought this beauty home. She won the blue ribbon for coloring this beautiful blue bird.
We absolutely could not be prouder of our Kindergarten graduate!

P-I-D-G-E

There is a dog that we all love
And Pidgey is her name-O.
P-I-D-G-E
P-I-D-G-E
P-I-D-G-E
And Pidgey is her name, O!

She climbs up trees and sniffs out things
And swells up when she gets bee stings...

 P-I-D-G-E
P-I-D-G-E
P-I-D-G-E

 Yes, that's her tree perch--whee!
Sorry for the painful song that is now stuck in your head. We have three trees in our backyard and yes, these are pictures of her in two of them, which she will now go up on command. She is a great guard dog and has a little more control of herself in the barking-at-everything-that-moves-dept. Unless it's a raccoon under the shed and you can pretty much guarantee that you will be chasing her around the yard to make her stop.

We love our Pidgey-girl-O!

Full Swing

We're in full swing of t-ball right now....pun totally intended.
We are very happy the girls are on the same team this year since it won't happen but every few years. We are happy to be on Danica's team, too!
We are sharpening Audrey's skills this year...
...and learning the basics of the game.
And havin' a little fun while we're at it ;)
Notice Pop at the fence filming her hit!
This is Brenna's first year to play...
 And Daddy's a coach!
Rookie Brenna is not lacking in her skills and confidence at age 4. And she's cute too ;)

To make things even better, I'd say we have the best fans around, too!
