Leap!

What better way to celebrate a day that only comes around once every four years than with a parade?!

Gotta love an extra day to play with friends :)
Next Leap Day will be when these kids are 6, 8, and 9...
And how about some Leap Frog, too :)

Harrison

My maiden name is Harrison. This is my family on the ranch. These are the people God gave me to: Phillip and Jerrilynn, otherwise known as Mom and Dad...and most recently, Nana and Awpa. My dad runs the family ranch, and my mom recently retired from the elementary school to help with all of her grandkids. They have been together 30 years and have built quite a legacy. This is my brother Austin, two years younger than me. He gave me a great new sister when he married Melinda a couple of years ago. They live too far away in Georgia working for Cargill Ag companies. We cherish every time they come home. They are a great Uncle Bub and Aunt Mel even from four states away. This is my sister Albany, 10 years younger. She and I finally became best friends in the last 5 years when the age gap didn't matter anymore. She does a great job being a mom and preschool teacher, and she is a fun Aunt Bobby to my girls. I became an aunt when Layton Cole was born, five weeks after Audrey...and nobody has ever been prouder of their nephew than us. They live in "the yellow house" on the ranch with their big dogs Pudge and Sugar. Thankfully we just live 50 minutes down the road from where I grew up so we can easily be a part of most family functions from hangin' out to holidays to helping out.
I am blessed to call these people mine.
My cousin Tifani of Captured Photography took these family pictures since we had Austin and Mel in town for a week. As usual, she did "capture" the real us in our real setting.

With every birth and every union the circle grows,
Every joy shared adds more love,
Every crisis faced together makes the circle grow stronger."

Jumping for Joy

You cannot believe the HOURS of entertainment we have spent on our new trampoline!
Even Josh got some jumping time in on his day off :)The girls' jumping and balance have already improved amazingly.

And I have to admit that I greatly enjoy laughing at their static-y hair!
Who knew jumping could create so much joy?!

Brenna's Big Girl Room

This is Brenna's big girl horse room!Mimi finished the AMAZING horse mural for her window shade a few weeks ago, and Brenna is in love with it. She mentions it almost every day when she is going to sleep or waking up. We are also proud to have one of Awpa's saddles in her room to ride. It is one of many he has won at ropings. This is the shelf that Josh made when it was Audrey's nursery, and it is now adorned with a rope horse that my Granny gave me a long time ago, a sweet daddy/daughter pic, boots worn by both girls, a pretty "B" and angel from Mimi, an antique oil lamp that was my great-aunt's, my old spurs and decorative horses from my childhood, and a few other little sweet trinkets. This dresser was Josh's when he was little, and Brenna loves looking at the picture of her riding Hollywood "myself". I also included a little pic of me riding when I was her age on a horse named Pillsbury.

Josh is working on fashioning a headboard from the girls' old crib, and that should add the perfect touch to a really sweet little room for a really sweet little girl!

Building Back Bastrop

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Josh spent three days in Bastrop rebuilding two of the 600+ homes that were destroyed by one of the state's worst wildfires in September.

This was the first pic he took at daybreak when they began work on Day 1.
This was taken at the same site by the end of that same day. Everyone was very proud and impressed with their efficiency and work that weekend.
And by the end of the next day, his group had basically finished the house for the elderly couple and began the flooring for the next house to be finished by another group the next week.
I am so proud of my hubby and even prouder of Christian service changing lives for the Lord.
