Can't get enough family time...

With the birth of Lander and the recent visits of James and Sydney from Atlanta and Austin, Melinda, and Everett from Kansas, we have had lots of extra fun family time! 

But all this time spent together just makes us miss them more!

Birthday Park Celebration

We loaded up a few friends to celebrate Brenna at the park last week. We have THE.GREATEST.FRIENDS!

Weston gave Brenna the sweetest card... In his own words and writing, "I am going to marry you" :) That would be a great match-up if I do say so myself!

To our big 5 year old...

You are 5 now...and what joy you have brought us in the five years since God gave you to us!

You go to preschool with me every day, and I absolutely love having you by my side. I don't know what I will do next year without you.

You love school and are always learning so much. It amazes us how much you know at such a young age and how you soak in knowledge like a sponge. You walk through the house counting. The other day, you asked me what comes after 199?!

Your favorite thing to do every day is read, read, read. This is where we find you, in your room in a nest of books. And you CAN read--by yourself. You can read so well. I wish I could take credit for how well you read, but it has been your determination, confidence, and practice that has made you take off! You could seriously skip Kindergarten. We are so proud of you...but then again, we would still be proud even if you didn't know a single letter. We can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for your life.

You are so fun. You are not afraid to try. You are not afraid of messing up. You are a great friend, but you are just fine being by yourself... and you are definitely not a follower. You are a sweet sister. Yes, you like to pick at Audrey but you two are still as precious together as ever.

Everyone at school loves you because you are consistently nice and a true friend to all. Many parents have told me that their child talks about their friend Brenna at home :) Your loving, kind heart makes us the proudest of all.

You are a loving daughter. This is how you like to play Wii with your daddy. I will never take for granted the mornings when you say Snuggle, the moments when you want to hold hands or be held. You are extremely headstrong and stubborn, but in that, I see your strength and confidence. Don't lose it.

Wasn't it just yesterday that you were this size in our arms? You need to slow down on the growing thing, but I think you know by now that you will always be our Brenna Baby.

 We simply adore you.

The day finally came! Our newest nephew was going to be born! So we left school early very excited to finally meet him...

We waited and waited at this window until we finally caught sight of the new baby and proud daddy.

Layton is already the best big brother ever :)

Memories to never forget from the weekend: how tough my sister is, our "adventure" through the hospital up and down stairwells to kill time, eating ice cream in freezing cold temperatures, the way his eyes moved in my direction when I talked to him on the first day he was born! So smart!
