All because two people fell in love...

I came across this post that was never posted this summer. I think it is funny and sweet all rolled into one big dress :)

I got my wedding dress out to show the girls, and we played bride dress-up. One of us is wearing the real veil, the others are wearing tutus :)
That was one of the happiest days of my life...
...and little did we know all the happiness that was to come!
I pray for the girls' future spouses that they are being cared for physically, mentally, and spiritually so they can one day become my sons-in-law and as great a partner for these girls as their daddy is to me...
And I also pray for their purity, that the white dress will truly be as symbolic to them as it was to me and most importantly to our Lord.
"All because two people fell in love..."

Often

We often drink quite a bit of milk around here.
We often get our hands a little messy.
We often get friends involved in our messes.
We often get really expressive with our painting. We often finish whole containers of fruit in one sitting. We often bring the indoors out...and vice versa.
We often like to snuggle.
We often use more toilet paper than is necessary.
We often deal out lots of hugs per day.
We often have very special days with very special friends.

Ropin' & Ridin'

We took a great little field trip to watch my dad rope at the Circle T Arena on Thursday.
We all had a great time getting out of the house for a few hours......and loved the company of grandparents and horses.
This is Hollywood. This is Scar. These are happy little girls who would have ridden all day if they could.

But like them, Hollywood had to go take a nap. Until the next ride, happy trails!

Zzzzz

Daylight Savings is not our friend.

These are the morning hours we have been seeing in just the first few days of the time change: 4:30, 4:45, 5:20, 5:30.

Audrey has always been an early bird, waking long before the sun. Now, she may be turning nocturnal. And Brenna, who can often sleep until 7:30, has been up at the new 6:00. We have tried staying up late to help them sleep in, but that just resulted in even less sleep for all.

We only pray that they will be easy-risers when they are teenagers, too...

Seasons of Change

As each season changes, it always reminds me how much & how fast the girls are growing and changing.
I had to trim Audrey's hair the other day. It was getting very long and frazzled on the ends. I had been putting this off knowing it was the baby hair I was having to cut off...She wasn't excited about cutting it either, so I told her that she could throw her hair out to the birds after we cut it so they could put it in their nests to make them cozy. So that was neat to her.

Well, the Lord is neat like this...we found a fallen nest in the yard this week (which we are certain has her hair in it;) and she has been so proud examining her nest and showing it off to everyone. It is amazing all the knowledge and details she soaks in every day.
And what is just as amazing is seeing what Brenna Beth picks up from her sister daily...things that Audrey didn't know at 22 months.
Brenna's room has changed into a big girl's room. I try not to think about it too much to avoid tears...but after holding two sweet babies, the crib has been taken down, and the calming lavender-pink walls of a very special nursery are now cool green tones of a horsey-themed big girl room. (Ok, I did not avoid tears afterall...)
But alas, Brenna deserves a special room that is brand new, and she, of course, adores the horses on her bed. She has actually been sleeping in the big bed for weeks and has done perfectly. Isn't she a cute little big-girl on her bed...and a special keynote to her room is the rope horse she is holding. It belonged to my Granny who gave it to me when I was a kid :)
It is hard to believe that we have a very similar picture of Audrey at the same age in her new room just before Brenna's arrival...Wasn't that two months ago instead of two years!?

There are many more special touches planned for Brenna's room, too...Just wait and see!

And if you have learned the secret of slowing down the time and changing seasons, please let me know!
