VBS 2012

We've been VBSing this week! It was a National Park theme this year, so our classroom was a meadow for little bears complete with snow-capped mountain, tent, and bear cave!

We were so excited that Layton and Albany were with us all week!

Not to mention 14 other really great pre-K friends :)

 We learned many promises from God... 

 God helps us all the time and He gives us all we need!

 Brenna stayed with grandmas most of the week, but she wasn't scared to get on stage with Audrey and Layton during family night! She was insistent on it actually...

 So for the end of the week, she joined Audrey and our class in making crafts...

 singing and dancing...

 ...and learning about Jesus!

 "It's a cool cool summer!"

Rookie of the Year

We ended a great first season of t-ball earlier this month!

Audrey loved her team and her coaches.

She loved the game itself, especially running the bases.

She even loved her opponents :)

And most of all, she loved her fans!

Sister,

uncle, aunt,

friends, cousin,

grandparents, great-grandmothers,

and neighbors!

Her favorite thing was for everyone to yell, "Go Audrey!" which will be one of my favorite memories, too :) And she is extremely excited about this trophy...

She has earned our award for Rookie of the Year :) 

Our first puppy!

Meet Pidge. We finally have our puppy we have been waiting and waiting for!

Pidge makes us 4 girls for poor Josh ;)

She is really sweet and smart and has just enough energy and playfulness to be really fun!

All 3 girls have been in heaven getting to know each other :) All week, I heard, "Pidge! Oh Pigeon!" all through the house.

Yes, a puppy is A LOT of work. I am very thankful Josh set the pen up outside today :) But she fits right in around here and is greatly loved!

  And she loves us right back :)

Meanwhile back at home...

Mimi and Pop so generously entertained the girls while we were away for the weekend! And they were so sweet to send us pictures and updates of their fun :) It really put my heart at ease being away from them!

 We brought a little of the beach back for them. We were all amazed at the soft white sand!

These beach sensory tubs have been a huge hit as the girls explore and examine different types of shells and a starfish.

 They love listening to the ocean in their shells, and we have promised to take them with us next time!

 And yes, it will feel like the beach in our kitchen floor for a few days...minus the salt spray :) 

Sandestin 2012

We are back from an incredible trip to the Florida coast!

 Josh and I were so happy Austin and Melinda were free to drive over from Georgia to join us for a couple of days. We did lots of laughing :)

 We also did lots of beach-loungin'...

 We were on "island time" afterall.

 The guys got some boogie-boarding in, too, while Mel and I soaked up the sun or jumped over waves!

 

 Throw in a couple of sunset walks on the white sand beach, and I am one happy wife...

 I loved the time spent with my best friend and will cherish the memories from Sandestin 2012!

FYI: This place is so family-friendly. So much in fact that we may be forced to test it with the rest of our family again someday :)
