Pie for our Guy

We missed the mark on Father's Day cards and gifts this year with so many activities going on around us, but Brenna and I did manage to surprise Daddy with a chocolate pie he has been craving! Audrey was most assuredly out socializing and missed the project.

Summer Camp!

The girls and I headed off for two days at mini-GA camp last week! Audrey went last year, and it was a first camp experience for Brenna this year.

They were extremely excited about everything...first of which was the top bunks!

This is what happens when Brenna and Danica drive together.

Swimming is always a favorite anywhere.

GAs is a mission-minded program for girls, so the camp provided a mission study time where we donated vegetable seeds to be backpacked into rural Mexico where villages can grow their own food.

We also did craft activities with a missionary from Kenya. Once again, the Lord used this testimony to speak to Audrey who is still adamant about going to Haiti to work with children some day.

I loved watching all of the girls interact at camp, especially these three who have grown up together.

Besides the one night of very little sleep...(yes, there were two 6-year-olds that found their way into my twin size bunk)...

...we had a great time at summer camp at Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment in Brownwood!

Sculptiful

Here is round 2 of our attempts at clay sculpting, our newest craft endeavor...

I had to "help" with another dog. They always want to be in charge of the eyes and nose, though.

Brenna formed her very own sprinkled cupcake with candle.

And Audrey formed this adorable little snail all by herself.

I love their little creations. And mostly, I love the way the Lord has/is molding and creating them. We all begin as a messy lump of clay with no shape or form. If we allow God to be the potter in our life, He will sculpt us into the beautiful, interesting creation He planned for us to be!

Cousin Camp

Our cousin Reagan came to stay for a few days last week, and we loved every minute of it!

She was a little homesick, so it was games and crafts galore around here!

They loved these clay sculptures that I only "helped" with: owl, dolphin, puppy.

We also spent lots of time in the pool as my two finished swim lessons. Reagan is already a fearless fish.

At the end of her stay, we got to see the boys! They live in East Texas, so it is a very special treat to see all of them for some quality cousin time.

It was an extra special treat for Nannie to get most of her great-grandkids all together at one time! They always enjoy exploring her place in the woods and hunting.

If only they didn't live so far away...

Brenna's 1st Tooth

Brenna lost her first tooth on the first day of Community Rehab this year. Her next one is close behind and soon we will say goodbye to her shark teeth!

Track Camp

The girls enjoyed summer track camp this month. They learned the basics of track and field, including starts...

...and water obstacles? To celebrate their completion, the fire truck arrived to hose them down on the track!

Rehab 16

Another week of Community Rehab is in the books...and the Lord showed up in a big way once again. This year House #250 was completed.

Josh was the crew chief in charge of this home in Deleon.

It required extensive roof repairs along with the usual fresh coat of paint.

Our daddy has become an important part of this project, including pre-planning, setup, and storage. We love watching him use the special skills the Lord has gifted him with.

Praying over the beautiful finished home and homeowners...

While Josh and 250 volunteers were working on houses around the county each day, a few of us were busy in the kitchen preparing snack, lunch, and dinner at the high school. It takes the whole community indeed. Here is the future of Community Rehab:

Train them up in the way they should serve...

I love the fact that missions can happen in your backyard, across the street from you, among neighbors. I also love that houses are not the only things that are rehabbed in Comanche each summer...

Mother's Day Modeling

This is a screen shot of an article on a website about Comanche. The mayor Mr. Clifton asked me and the girls to "model" some clothes from a cute women's shop on the square for his advertising section. It is also the movie store ;) It was a first for me but fun to wear some cute new clothes. I did get a shirt for being a good sport!
