Granny

My sweet Granny turned 80 yesterday, and we celebrated her with lots of sweet friends, family, and flowers!

 She came in the door with her box of Kleenex :)

 The girls were proud to give her their framed school picture...and she was even prouder to receive it :)

Happy birthday, Granny! We love you!

Turkey Talk

It has been nothing but turkey talk around here!

Audrey was so proud of her Candy Turkey for school. She named these things she is thankful for: her teacher, shoes, Mama, Daddy, Brenna, candy.

It's our friend Laney and a pinecone turkey!

Check out all these adorable Pilgrims and Indians, too :) Yes, this Mayflower used to be firetruck...use your imagination!

Brenna said she is thankful for all the kids in her school...and she added all of us here at home including Pidgey-Widgey :)

Tipis and Indian Maidens...

We had a Thanksgiving Feast at school. It was a wonderful time with our friends and their families. The kids sang a sweet prayer before we all feasted together just like the Pilgrims and Indians so long ago.

I am so thankful for all my little turkeys.

Good Ones to Tell...

We went to a wedding last weekend and stayed at a really nice resort in the Hill Country owned by George Strait. Austin and Josh played a round of golf...

...while the rest of us had breakfast next to the King of Country himself. It is hard to recognize him in sandals and a ball cap though...

 My favorite part of the weekend was this tall drink of water...

 And no, these people are not famous, but good-looking, too, huh?

 Next fun story...This weekend we watched my dad rope...and what to our wondering eyes did appear...It was Santa in his roping gear!

The kids were very eager to shake his hand and put in their Christmas order :)

 Thrilled is more accurate. And they thought it was too cool that he roped right after their Awpa.

Brenna Beth was more concerned with her french fries, but big sister told him what she wanted for Christmas, too.

They really have been good this year, Santa :)

Treats not Tricks

It was all treats, no tricks for our Halloween this year. We made two family outings, and they were very similar in their treats...

For our first Halloween outing:

We got to see grandparents and an uncle.

We went to a fall festival and, although very cold, the jump house was awesome!

Someone ate lots of candy...

We ended up at Chuck E. Cheese since it was a little too cold outside.

Daddy enjoyed the games as much as the girls...

It did warm up enough to take a spin on the teeter-totter...

... and tricycles.

Overall, a great time with family as usual!

For our 2nd Halloween outing:
We also had a wonderful time with family. I know you can't spot him because he had such an awesome camo paint job, but Layton is sitting between the Olympians ;)

We also got to see more grandparents and uncle plus aunt and cousin!

Another Fall Festival, this one a little warmer...

Then we knocked on our neighbors' doors...

...and Mrs. Linda provided the greatest treat of the night :)

I don't like Halloween, but boy, costumes and candy and family are great!
