Take me out to the ballgame...

We have loved going to a few of cousin Jeremy's baseball games this year.

The first game was handy because it was in Comanche. Jeremy hit his first home run of the season and the girls got to help find the home run ball!
Then last night we traveled to watch Jeremy and the Mavs win the District Championship against Cisco. Jeremy hit the winning run in with two outs left in the bottom of the last inning! Very exciting!
The biggest plus of going to these games is spending time with Granny and going to the concession stand with Nan :) Audrey took $2 to the game and made it out with lots of Starburst and $12!
Way to go, Jeremy! Can't believe you are almost done with high school...We are proud of you!

Easter 2014

Easter at Granny's...it was a rainy day but it didn't dampen the fun. We were very thankful for the moisture and the new twist to hunting eggs with cousins...

The annual line-up, youngest to oldest, to be released into the hunt...this year into the house instead of out!
This has been my dad's job since before I can remember.

Eggs in Granny's shoes?

Full bucket for Corbin
Kyrstin found a cute little egg :)
Inside or out, inside and out...always a joy to be with our family especially on such a special holiday.

6th Annual Friend Hunt

Our friends started a wonderfully fun annual egg hunt six years ago. Here's a fun recap of all those years...

2009:
Audrey (14 months) and Caden (18 months)
 2010:
Audrey & Caden (2 years)

 Brenna (3 months)
 2011:
Brenna (15 months) & Danica (18 months)
Audrey & Caden (3 years) watching Caden and Danica's Granny read the Easter story
Audrey always helping her little sister...

 2012:
Audrey and Layton (4 years)
 Brenna (2 years)

Hearing their sweet Granny tell the Easter story with each year...
Audrey still taking care of Brenna...

Old enough for the number hunt...

 All 4 year olds...
 2013:
Brenna (3 years) and Audrey (5 years)...and just realized Brenna wore Audrey's outfit from the year before :)

 2014:
Garner and Brenna (4 years)
Audrey (6 years) in the older field

It's a long road of memories at the McKeehan annual hunt! Looking forward to many more...

Great Good Friday

We had a blessed (and busy!) Good Friday.

My absolute favorite part was having both girls HOME all day! We started off making pancakes together before our friends showed up.
Then we tried to center the rest of the day around Christ...especially since we were each on His mind on that day so long ago.

Stained Glass Crosses:

 Resurrection Rolls:

We talked about how the disciples washed and wrapped Jesus and closed Him in the tomb (as the marshmallow was closed in the crescent roll). Then 3 days later (10 minutes oven time), the tomb was empty!
 He is not there!
 He is Risen!
The Lord is risen indeed! One of my all time favorite Easter activities.

Then we all donned aprons (don't ask me how we have so many) and took to the brave crazy task of dying eggs with 2 two-year-olds, 1 three-year-old, 2 four-year-olds, and 2 six-year-olds (the most emphasis on the 2 two-year-olds.)
I am proud to say that they all kept their clothes dye-free, not so much their hands or the tablecloth, but they loved it and made beautiful eggs.

Then we took turns hiding and hunting them :)
...until Pidge figured out she liked the taste :/

I love time with kids, especially when that time involves celebrating our Risen King!
