16 going on 17...

Look at this big girl. She is fun.She is funny. And she can be quite the little mess.Brenna Beth is now 16 months old...

...and thinks she is as old as Audrey!

She loves doing big girl things like standing on the stool in the bathroom to brush her teeth, sliding down the big slide all by herself, and putting stickers on her sticker sheet. She is great at running to get her shoes to go outside, using a spoon to get every speck of applesauce, and spotting all kinds of animals. She can make noises for all of these animals: dog, cat, horse, cow, sheep, rooster, duck, lion, bird, frog, bunny (hop hop, she says), and elephant (with a trunk motion with her arm).

Look at what a difference a year makes when it comes to playing at the park...(still got the baby fat on her knees, though)I choke up thinking about how fast she is growing. I do not look forward to using this same title someday (for 16 years instead of months!)Can you believe she is wearing the same shirt Audrey wore on this same slide at two years old (just last year)...meaning she is wearing Audrey's hand-me-downs a year early! Alot of times she can just wear things straight out of Audrey's closet. Here are both of my girls enjoying strawberries at age 16 months...They are both good eaters, but Brenna has gotten most kids beat by a long shot. I greatly greatly appreciate how well this girl can eat.
Here are just a few things that Brenna is saying in her own funny way:
Bac bac (Right back)
Bye Bye
Mu Me (Excuse me) after burping, of course :)
I poo (yep, that's what she is really talking about)
Pease (Please)
Da doo (Thank you) and she does this on her own most times!
Yay! (when I say it's time for a show or a snack)
Doddie, maaaa mu? (Audrey, where are you?)
I na no (I don't know)
Mon (C'mon, while wiggling fingers your way)
I ma mo (usually when she wants something again like books or songs)
Nose (while pointing to her nose or your nose or anyone's nose...she also knows most basic body parts)
And one of my favorites...she can sing "Oo-da-lally, Oo-da-lally, golly what a day" from the Disney movie "Robin Hood" by saying "Ula-Ula-Ula Day"
She may think she is getting big, but her feet still pitter-patter through our house. And she may shake her head when I ask her if she is Mama' s baby, but she will always be just that...even when she is 16 going on 17 years...

Sea World!

Here's our Sea World trip!

The girls started out with an early breakfast poolside talking about all that we were going to see that day.We were there when the gates opened and were welcomed by a friendly Shamu! And even at 9:45 a.m., we were learning/teaching a new vocabulary word...HUMIDITY. Yes, the air was thick and hot all day, and Brenna's hair was very curly :)It was fun to have Mimi and Pop with us. The girls loved being pushed in this double stroller by one of us four in their entourage.
First stop was Dolphin Feeding. We just watched this session and then actually fed Sea Lions later on in the day.
Then the aquariums...Do you see the diver waving at Brenna and Mimi?
And the sharks swimming around these four?
Brenna Beth took a snooze in the Penguin House after lunch :)
The Shamu Show!
This was Audrey's most anticipated thing to see...and it didn't disappoint!

Both girls loved waving and watching as the whales jumped and splashed. I loved watching the girls :)
Did I mention it was hot and humid? Brenna was a little sweaty.

Audrey picked a Shamu stuffed animal for a souvenir, and he performed with her in the other shows we went to :) She still hasn't put this thing down since we left the park two days ago.

This "Azul" show was great...dolphins, parrots, comedy, divers, music, trapeze, beluga whales. It was a great way to end our day at Sea World!
And you can see, we saw the performers up close before the show!

We still love Sea World from our childhood and love that it will be a fun memory for our girls, too!

Always Have, Always Will

Josh and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary on Saturday. How are we spending it? By taking the kids to Sea World! No, not extremely romantic, but we are happiest all together having fun (Don't worry...we have a more restful trip just for us planned for later :)

I saw a couple of quotes this week that were perfect for our anniversary post:

"One of the most important things a father can do for his children is to love their mother." And this daddy does it oh-so-well...even on the days when this mama is oh-so-unloveable.

And likewise, one of the most important things he does for me is to love our babies. After 6+ years, he looks his absolute best to me with a little girl or two on his lap...
This is us most afternoons...watching and waiting for our favorite guy to come home. It is my favorite part of the day seeing him walk through the door...like my heart is whole again :)

I love all the life we have crammed into 6 years, babe..."Loved you yesterday, love you still, always have, always will."
