Not just a normal daddy...

This was just a normal morning of weaving potholders with Daddy like most dads do, right?
And this was just another regular game of Duck Duck Goose that all daddies play on the trampoline, right?

And this was like any old stay on a beautiful lake for a weekend getaway that any husband plans?
I'm not sure...but I don't think we got just any ordinary daddy and husband on our hands here :)

And his weekend will not be customary at all. In fact, it will be quite extraordinary because he will once again be rebuilding a home for a fire victim in Bastrop. He is always at his best at home with us, but when he is doing construction like this, he is at his very best for Christ...and that's no normal, ordinary thing at all!

Cousin Cuddles

We got to spend some great time recently lovin' on some cousins we don't see very often...Cayden, Jackson, and Reagan!
Audrey found herself between a couple cute cowboy cousins, too...Layton and Corbin :)

I put this picture in because these kids seem as close as cousins...Weston and Avery! This was our first time holding Baby Avery :)
I love some cousin cuddlin'!

Preschool is Cool

...and especially when that preschool is called Bright Beginnings ;) Check out some really fun days we have been having...

Career Day/Community Helpers Unit: We dressed up as what we want to be when we grow up or as a helper in the community.

Audrey dressed up as a doctor complete with doctor coat, clothes bought by Dr. Uncle James, and a stethoscope. Brenna wants to be an animal rescuer. She carried her pet carrier, rope, and rescue pack (like Diego).
In the little class, we had (from l to r) Marli the singer, Sienna the ballerina, Garner the doctor, Danica as Dora, Jack the chef, Kaleb the policeman, Brenna the animal rescuer, Sutton the football player, and Savannah the calf roper.
Audrey and Garner have already decided to open up their own practice together.
In the older class, we had Rylie the chef, Ryan the policeman, Reese the beautician, Audrey the doctor, Laney the cheerleader, Jordan the mommy, Emma the firefighter, and Calder the cowboy. We have an excellent future generation!
That same day, a State Trooper brought his car to our school to visit with us about how he helps the community.

Here's Audrey talking on his loudspeaker: "Get your hands up," she said!

Our dinosaur unit was a lot of fun, too...This is a Brenn-O-Saurus!
Every hand in the big class could fit in this dinosaur footprint!
Aren't these dinosaur party hats fun?
Making footprints in playdough...

Audrey putting her foot in the real dinosaur footprint...
Brenna and Danica digging for fossils...
All ten of my little friends playing in shaving cream for our Winter theme...
...and then a fun snowball fight that same day!

The spring days are coming back allowing us more picnic snack time outside with friends!
I am so proud of how these little ones have blossomed and learned this year. We can actually make a straight line now!
They are all learning so much academically, and I am especially excited about all they are hearing from the Bible.

These school days are always crazy with so many little ones, but these kids are just incredible and make our preschool really really cool!

In Loving Memory

We had a memorial service for my Papa Jerry yesterday, and it was a beautiful celebration of a life redeemed by Christ.

He had personal messages waiting to be given to us after the service, and this is what I will forever cherish:

"Amber, I am one proud grandfather. I love you, Papa Jerry."

Valentine Sweeties

Here are a couple of Valentine sweeties for you...
We spent all week getting ready...
 ...to give out some lovin'!

Sadly, Audrey had a bad ear infection on the actual Love Day, so she wasn't feeling as lovey-dovey...but she toughed it out for the candy and cards :)
Brenna and our other friends had a "sweet" time at our "God is Love" Party.

After a quick trip to see Dr. Rose (fitting on V-Day, I guess :), the girls and I enjoyed sitting outside having a Valentine picnic together opening all of our Valentines and eating ALL the candy!

It was a really nice afternoon for us as we waited for our Prince Charming to get home...

Hope your Valentines Day and every day is filled with the love that comes from knowing Jesus.

Aspiring Gymnast!

Whew...I really need to get this girl into organized gymnastics...

She loved Harper's gymnastics party at this nice gym and literally dresses up and does her "tricks" every.single.day.

Well, at least we have some funny pictures to look back on when she's winning golds someday :)
