Amazing Love

Here's something that is overwhelmingly amazing...another truth I've always known but learned at a new depth because of these kids:

I care about you people. If you are reading this blog, then you obviously care about us, too. And I can honestly say that I would be honored to give my life for you (or at least try to be brave enough if push came to shove!)

But when I think about the sacrifice that God made--giving up HIS OWN SON to die for us, I realize that I cannot love as big and as perfectly as Him. Because although I would love to go out as a martyr for my fellow man, I could never/would never give up my kids to die for you. As a recent revivalist said, If given the choice between you or my kids in a life-threatening situation...well, I would pray for you!

So the enormous sacrifice of giving His only Son...to die a gruesome death so that I may live and you may live forever with Him...shows the great and incomparable height, length, breadth, and width of His love for us...how can anyone deny that as amazing love?

Inspiration

Audrey: "God loves bad people, too. He even loves the Yankees."

Audrey: "I am good at writing my name. When I get in school, I will help kids who can't write their name, like this...I will say, All you have to do is write A-U-D-R-E... (realizing it can't be spelled Audrey...)-N."

 Audrey: (Before blowing a dandelion) "Make a dream!"

 Daddy: (while discussing the future) So you are going to make something out of yourself?
Audrey: Yes, I am going to make something myself.

 Brenna: (while eating a banana that needed to be peeled the rest of the way) "Mom, this nana not working!"

Thank you, girls, for reminding me to love harder, dream bigger, and see the world in all perspectives and possibilities!

Audrey had a GREAT first game as a Mudcat!

We played Caden and the Hooks!

She had solid hits every time at bat.

And she ran the bases hard! It helps having a really good 2nd base coach :)

She played 2nd base and actually made a play to get someone out...and it just happened to be Caden! :/

We're practiced up and ready to go! Our first t-ball game is tomorrow!

Audrey has learned lots about baseball in the last few weeks with Daddy by her side...and the Rangers on the TV every night :)

Little Sister has been practicing her skills, too.

She will be the best fan our team has this year!

Butterfly Bluff

I know a place...

...a place where happiness grows in bright yellow petals...

...and joy takes flight on the wings of butterflies...

...where discovery happens every day...

...and laughter runs rampant with the breeze.

It's a place where beauty takes all forms.

It's a place where boys can be boys...

...and yep, girls will do their thing...

...and best of all, friendship grows wilder than the foliage.

It's one of my most favorite places.

It has come to be known as "Butterfly Bluff"...or as Brenna says, "Blutterfy Buff."
