Country Roads
Another aspect of life for our girls to appreciate...riding the back roads appreciating the beauty of our county and the wonder of wildlife. Sitings: tornado damage, jackrabbits, deer, fawns, turtles, rushing creeks, snakes, birds, cows, hogs, frogs, wildflowers...one happy family.
A Roping
We watched Awpa rope one afternoon, and it always takes me back to some of the fondest memories of my childhood: horses, dirt, boots, ropes, trailers, smells, friendly faces, cousins, sweat, my dad, concession stands...I want my girls to experience it and appreciate it.
They have always adored Hollywood...
And Awpa :)

Final K Days
Brenna and her buds are heading to 1st grade. They had a fantastic year with Mrs. Sally Hicks, and they are her final class after almost 40 years of teaching.

3rd Grade Ready
There is already so much competition and pressure as we move into 3rd grade. But there is not one thing I would change about this girl. That blue All A Ribbon looks good on her one six weeks, and then the red AB ribbon looks just as pretty the next. Because Audrey works hard. She doesn't get all the math concepts the first try, but she powers through, encouraging and loving on everyone else as she goes. She is exceptional at reading, and even more exceptional at smiling. I never want my girls defined by their grades, awards, All A Breakfast invitations, GT nominations, sports accomplishments, test scores, or popularity contests. Instead, I pray they find their worth, competence, acceptance, beauty, value, gifts, self in Christ. And likewise, I pray I will not find myself in my girls or my parenting.
Be radiant in Him, sweetie, no matter what! So proud of you!
Dino in the Park
We have a new addition to our city park...a replica of a therapod dinosaur! Decades ago, tracks from a dinosaur of this kind were found in Comanche...apparently the largest of its kind in Texas. To memorialize this, funds were collected at school to create this interesting marker. A few winning classes were taken to the park to pose for pictures and the news station. My little class sits in front in this picture.
The girls and I visited "Traci" one afternoon.
Here is the mold from the tracks discovered back when.

Although an unusual piece of the county's history, Comanche kids were thrilled to be apart of this project.
Audrey's Awards
End of Year 2nd Grade Awards Program
Thank you for a great year, Mrs. Plumlee! Our girl adores you!
Audrey was awarded a PE award and the Bookworm Award. She was also recognized for being on the Creative Writing team.

Kindergarten Graduation
Our Brenna is a Kindergarten graduate now :)
These kids will be the senior class of 2028!
I just hope her next cap and gown pic doesn't come too soon!

A Weekend with Noah
We had a very busy, joyful time with this little guy a few weekends ago...Noah Kyle!
Noah's mommy and daddy went on a trip, and we gladly accepted the job of caring for our sweet God-son from Thursday night to Monday morning.
We discovered very quick that he is all boy and all 2!
The girls were in heaven being full-time babysitters and pretend big-sisters.
He loved them, too! His tickling was hilarious!
We introduced him to Butterfly Bluff, and he squealed in excitement at every bug.
He did great reading and falling asleep. He and I shared Brenna's big bed...along with two dogs, two dinosaurs, and a monkey.
Another thing Noah loves that makes him all-boy...tractors!
Bubbles & Bluebonnets & Beautiful babies=perfect photo opps
Noah eats bubbles. We were rolling!
Yep, we were in love with this little guy, our baby brother for the weekend...exhausted, but in love!

I can still hear his little voice as he waved from the tractor, "Bye durs (girls)! Bye!"
