Half a Year

Can you believe my baby is 6 months old now? I can't.

I loved this age with Audrey and now I remember why...Brenna is so happy and bubbly. She is always watching and reaching and "talking" and giggling. And she is so cute sitting so well and scooching around everywhere.

She tends to be a little high maintenance like her sister was...meaning she doesn't want me to put her down or leave her side! But then again, it is really flattering that she wants to be with me so much :)

Unfortunately, she is still a spitter and still on reflux med...but no worries, she is not suffering. The girl is usually wearing 12 month clothes! She's very healthy :)

And guess what? Brenna favors me and my brother! This is a big deal when your first one could not pass as your child :) The first three pictures are me and then the last two are my brother Austin. I think the very last picture looks like Brenna the most.

And if Brenna is 6 months, that means Audrey is 2 years and 6 months...which is getting close to 3! More funny stuff on her soon...

Where has the time gone?

Mommy Musings

1. I made my own baby food. Here's what Brenna thought about it:

2. Audrey decided she would finally like to be potty-trained...so she basically is! She can't make it all night, of course, but she goes to the potty all day all by herself. She even goes in and closes the door and says, "Ye me yone" (Leave me alone). For a "modest" girl, I sure have a hard time catching her afterwards to get her panties back on her.

3. And speaking of anatomy and modesty, she pulled her shirt up the other day and pointed out her "buttons". She showed me that Brenna has "buttons", too.

4. Audrey is still obsessed with her TV shows. She has moved on from Backyardigans to Dora and Diego to Kai-Lan and now Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I admit I used her obsession to help "motivate" her to potty-train. She couldn't watch a show until she got enough stickers. You better believe she started pushing hard to get tee-tee out then. This has become her favorite viewing spot:

5. And in the midst of training our girls, the Lord is constantly using them to speak to us...When we finally get to sit down to eat at night, we very often throw ourselves into our chairs and start gobbling while holding babies, wiping mouths, bribing bites...and don't stop to thank God for our food and day. So many times, Audrey reminds us, "Pray guys. Pray togever" and I feel like I could cry on the spot. Out of the mouths of babes... Thank you, Lord, that even our two-year-old has a direct line to You.

Amazed by fireworks!Not so amazed by swimming...Audrey still loves to hide...and she is really good at it :)

Sat Set Sit

Brenna girl is sitting very well now with a few wobbly moments here and there. (And as you can see, I have another cartoon fanatic on my hands.)

Also, she has been developing quite a rat-tail in the back...

...so she sat nicely and let me give her her first little haircut. (This was the exact month I had to trim Audrey's stringy hairs, too, two years ago.)

Yes, she is sitting now at 5.5 months...but just wants to be running with Audrey already! I'll let you know when she takes off!
