God Bless Comanche

We were 700 miles from home last week when we got the news that so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ were in tragedy. At least 6 of our fellow church members were involved in a horrific fireworks explosion while they were setting up for the annual show. Perhaps the greatest leader in our whole church and community was killed...Dr. Russell Reynolds. We felt so helpless and so far away. I hope just maybe our prayers reached God's ears a little quicker from the higher elevation of the mountains that fateful day. We headed home early with heavy hearts on the 4th to serve and mourn with our church family and community. We took food and hugged necks. We listened to stories and shared memories. Jessie sang like an angel in honor of Russell at church. It is indescribable how everyone in town is grieving his loss and the scary accident that endangered so many friends. Please join us in praying for our friends and community. This 4th, we celebrated our home in this great nation, a place we are so thankful God placed us in...Comanche.

It didn't feel right to celebrate with fireworks this year, but we made beautiful paintings and necklaces to celebrate America and honor the patriotism Dr. Reynolds was so known for. God bless the Reynolds family and Comanche.
