We spent hours on the porch of the Pagosa Mountain house, enjoying cool temps, great company, and delicious food.
We also ventured around the area, exploring trails and picnic-ing next to gorgeous mountain lakes and rivers. The girls have become great explorers, spotting all kinds of wildlife and climbing on every big rock we passed.
This little walk through the river looks really fun...until you learn that we ended up with little leeches on our feet :/
James and his sweet girlfriend Sydney
For the second year, all three of these girls loved snuggling up together in the back of the Kubota.
Pidge also liked riding up front with her ears blowing in the wind :)

Audrey, Brenna, and Mimi hiking in the Aspens...
This was a beautiful, unexpected cliff we found. The beauty of the mountains was truly breathtaking.
The forest fire was burning just over the mountains from us. We were never in danger, but the smoke rolled in over the town one day for a scary reminder of how bad the fires get.
Treasure Falls...We love this hike, from the chipmunks who greet you at the base, to the glittering walls under the falls, to the rainbow that stretches across the pool, to the bridge you cross with the waterfall in view over you...
A fun summer feature of the mountain house are the surrounding thickets that you can spot deer in throughout the day. Before we left, we spread carrots in the thickets for our deer friends :)
If we go missing again, this is probably where you should look first ;)
4th of July mountain pics coming soon...
