There are some interesting days in our school district called waiver days. Students that are passing can get out of school ten days early for summer. So Audrey got out on May 21! My class, however, is "unique". We stayed in school until June 5.
So in order to survive those extra two weeks with these 17 little darlins, we made a countdown-to-summer FUN to-do list.
Our first day was Camping Day. They each brought flashlights, we pitched a tent, made a campfire, went on a bearhunt, and painted fireflies. They liked it :)
Some easier "fun" days included no shoes day where we ran around barefoot and painted with our feet, backwards day where we wore clothing backwards and silly, and Party Day where we ate lunch in the classroom and got lots of goodies. Then there was Superhero and Princess Day!
Then the always favorite Splash Day...it's also my favorite so I can spray kids that have needed it all year!
We also took a Park Day and a Field Trip to the Comanche County Museum.
It was a little exhausting but alot of fun! One of my favorite parts about our ten extra days was that Audrey and a few of her friends were there to help us as our "teacher assistants" :) They had a great time and were lots of help. Their favorite things were read-alouds and die-cuts!
I hope these guys are having a great summer now. We ushered it in well!
