Lauren

This is our sweet friend Lauren. We met her and her incredible family in the fall when they temporarily moved to Comanche after being missionaries in Africa. She and Audrey hit it off instantly.
Brenna and Lauren's brother Easton are pretty good buddies, too ;)
And this is their mama Joy. She, Jessie, and I have become very close ourselves. Joy is exactly her name...pure joy and encouragement to be around. She has much Bible wisdom to share, and she roped me into the world of emoji and instagram, lol. Ok, I didn't take to emoji too well ;)
Well, Lauren would have sporadic seizures when we first met her, and then they began increasing dramatically and dangerously, causing Joy and Kendall to seek better medical attention. They finally discovered that she had a mass of abnormal blood vessels the size of a plum in her head called a cavernoma. She would have immediate brain surgery.
So we began praying. Our girls made prayer bracelets for people to wear, and my Sunday School friends began fundraising. Our church raised $2000 for them! It was a beautiful picture of the body of Christ taking action and carrying our brothers and sisters in their time of need.

There are many many incredible God stories that came out of their trial with Lauren.... including the fact that God brought an African doctor to her bedside that knew the exact hospital where Lauren was born in Africa, the fact that the surgery took 1 hour instead of 4, the fact that she was released in one day instead of 5, the fact that she instantly felt better and began reading, and on and on. Many lives were touched by Lauren's story. She had people praying for her literally all around the world. We are thankful for these friends God has placed in our life and for his faithfulness to his servants. And extremely thankful that our friend Lauren is now seizure-free and healthy as can be!
